The Little Things

Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much."- Luke 16:10
Anytime I find myself doing a mundane or "boring" task, that scripture always comes to my mind. Washing Dishes, Folding Laundry, Straightening Chairs in the Onelife Room.....you get the picture. It comes to my mind because it was the scripture I was given as a teenager, by my youth pastor when we would go out to do street ministry. I had just gotten saved, I was very excited to be a part of something- and the only thing they entrusted me with, was to take care of the microphone cords. I had to roll them nicely, place them in the bin, and make sure that we didn't leave any behind. Not.Very.Exciting.
A few months later, I was asked to sing on the youth worship team, and few months after that on the adult worship team. Years later I found myself running an entire orphanage in a third world country!
God is looking for us to show Him that we are willing to say "Yes" when He asks us to do something. If we are willing to respond when He calls, then we prove ourselves trustworthy to Him.
Maybe you don't feel like He is asking you to do anything right at this moment, but what if you picked a small thing and did it anyway? How much more would that show Him that you are ready and willing to work for Him?
What if you washed the dishes every day without having to be asked? What if you made it your own chore to fold the laundry just to help out? What if YOU straightened the chairs in the Onelife Room?
What if?
